Caribbean outreach

LIW Jamaica

Bringing hope and empowerment to women and girls in the Caribbean.

LIW Jamaica carries the Ladies in Waiting mission to the Caribbean. Led by our Lead Director on the island, the branch delivers programmes, mentorship and community support designed for the women and young girls it serves.

From Jamaica, our team runs confidence and self-esteem workshops, mentorship pairings and community initiatives that respond to the specific needs of local women and girls.

As part of our international family, Jamaica stands alongside our UK, Amsterdam and USA branches — one mission, many communities.

The beginning of LIW Jamaica

LIW Jamaica officially launched on 13 September 2026 with a meaningful community event focused on the hypersexualisation of young girls. Women and young people came together for an open discussion about its impact, the pressures girls face and how families and communities can help protect their confidence, identity and wellbeing.

Guests also received gift bags as part of a warm and encouraging day. The launch introduced LIW Jamaica’s ongoing commitment to mentoring and practical workshops that will support girls and women as they grow in confidence, recognise their worth and move forward with purpose.
